DIRECTOR OF SOJOURN KIDS

Type: Part-Time//5 hours a week to start

Responsibilities: 

Sunday Morning Sojourn Kids Ministry Oversight (30%//1.5 hours)

  1. Directs the Sojourn Kids content suitable to each age group alongside the assistance of the elders. 

  2. Coordinates a safe, clean, and responsible play/ministry environment for children and volunteers. 

  3. Works to implement and improve Sojourn Kids systems (check-in, new child follow-up, etc.) for a welcoming and engaging environment. 

  4. Coordinates the training of childcare volunteers for Sunday mornings 

  5. Takes inventory of commonly used items and coordinates restocking if necessary. 

Equipping Parents for Ministry to their Children (20%//1 hour)

  1. Connecting parents with discipleship tools and the Sunday morning content to help them engage their children with spiritual content during the week. 

  2. Assisting with the yearly parent commissioning Sunday. 

Outreach to families in the community (15%//45 minutes)

  1. Utilizing the Sojourn Kids space for outreach events such as movie nights, parents’ night out, etc. 

  2. Working alongside others to coordinate family outreach events such as the Easter Egg Hunt. 

Improving and Maintaining Sojourn Kids space (20%//1 hour)

  1. Responsible for planning, organizing the Kids ministry space. Works with other leaders in the church to bring the space together. 

  2. Maintaining and improving the Kids ministry space.

Staff Commitments (15%//45 minutes)

  1. Attending and engaging in the weekly staff meeting. 

  2. Weekly coaching meeting with a pastor for the growth of yourself and your ministry.
